There are some helpful tips you can follow to read successfully.  You should always preview, view, and review when reading.

Preview
Before you read a text, you should preview it.  Read the title.  Read the subheadings.  Read the first sentence.  Read the last sentence.  Look at the pictures.

View
Now, read the text.  If there is a new word, circle it.  If you don’t understand something, write a question mark (?).  Underline the keywords.

Review
After you read the text, you should look at it again two (2) or three (3) times.  Maybe you know some of the new words now.  You will get more information and details.  You will be able to answer questions.

Preview / View / Review is another good reading strategy.
