K-12 School Year
The American school year is nine (9) months long. The school year usually begins in early September and ends mid-June. Then the students get summer vacation. In some schools, the students go to school for twelve (12) months. This kind of school is called a year-round school.
Here are some important rules about schools in the United States:
- Children must go to school for at least 180 days each year.
- Children can go to school until they are 21 years old.
- All children must go to school. Children who are not US citizens can go to school, too.
