A pharmacist is a person who works in a pharmacy. A pharmacist has special education and training. He or she knows about different drugs and medicines and the ways that they will affect your body. A pharmacist can give you information about medicines and can answer your questions.
Other useful words for the pharmacy:
- aisle: a row in a store, with shelves on both sides
- flu shot: a shot, or vaccine, that you can get every year to help yourself not get sick with the flu
- side effects: unwanted physical reactions that usually do not feel good
- prescription: a note from a doctor that tells what medicine you should use and how much; sometimes prescription is written as "Rx" for short
- antibiotics: medicines that kill bacteria and infections
- dizzy: a feeling that you are turning in circles and falling, even when you are standing or sitting still
