Strategies covered will include exploration of deep feature that allows for self-paced deliverables, motivation and outcomes. Topics will include Canvas prerequisites, multiple attempt quizzing, new uses of the Discussion Board and better rubrics.

Ways of achieving "gamification" of learning will be collected via group breakouts and digital reporting. Participants should come prepared to think, work, share, create new practices and innovative use of Canvas for learning.

Research has shown that a mis-match between the culture of our campuses and that of our students has a material impact on the ability of those students to succeed. However data can be a powerful tool for people who can analyze and interpret it, and (more importantly) know how to use data to influence people and decisions. By using data to tell a compelling story, administrators can implement strategies more effectively; instructors can illustrate concepts more effectively; and support staff can provide more effective overall support. This is the story of two secret agents combining limited resources from eLearning and the BTEC Co-Op program to combat the ADA noncompliance of videos. We'll go over how we utilized students in the Co-Op program, the process, what we've learned from it all, and some feedback from our Co-Op students. This fall, we offered our usual one day of faculty in-service with a new twist: It was followed by a year-long exploration with your colleagues on the topic of your choice.
Six topic strand options were designed and created in Canvas, with strand leaders and asynchcronous activities to be done each quarter. Come and get inspired by how Canvas can be used for professional development that everyone can attend, no matter what their schedule.
