Welcome to the Pearl Wanamaker Library at Tacoma Community College

This module has been created to help you learn about the resources that are available to you at the library. Not only are there librarians waiting to answer your questions and help you find the information you need, but there are also thousands of online and printed materials in the collection to help you with all your research needs!

To learn more about these resources, you'll spend some time searching through a library research guide created just for your class. The accompanying worksheet will ask you to answer questions about the library, as well as asking you to create a couple of your own questions -- that you'll then be able to ask in person during your classes Q&A Session and Library Tour. 

Downloading the Worksheet 

When you're ready, click the link below to view and download the "HD101: Virtual Tour of the Library" worksheet. Once you've downloaded the document, follow the instructions on the worksheet to complete the assignment. You will be using the worksheet as you explore the Library Research Guide.

Technical note about browsers & shield blockers:

If content, like the Library Research Guide on the next page, does not properly load in Canvas, please get in the habit of looking for the light grey shield icon in the top URL address bar of the browser. The shield icon is located on the upper left side in Firefox and on the upper right side in Chrome.

  • In Firefox, click on the shield icon in the upper left and then select "Disable Protection on this Page" from the options. 
  • In Chrome, click on the Shield icon in the upper right and then select the link that says "Load Unsafe Script."
