Community Resources

Pioneer Human Services- provides job skills training and employment programs
- Tacoma Residential Reentry Center supports individuals as they prepare for life in the community post incarceration
New Connections Tacoma- provides safe housing in supportive community for women transitioning from correctional facilities in WA state. They also provide resource navigation and advocacy support.
MDC- Forensic Housing and Recovery Through Peer Services (F-HARPS) Program- provides supportive housing services and short term housing bridge to at risk individuals. Their focuse population are individuals exiting or at risk of entering inpatient behavioral health settings.
Worksource Pierce County- provides workshops, job fairs, and events for those experiencing difficulties in their job search for justice impacted individuals
Indeed- Fair Chance Hiring - selecting the "fair chance" option when searching for jobs on Indeed will show employers currently hiring that make it easier for those who have been incarcerated to find employment
Native American Reentry Services- supports Native American, Asian, Pacific Islander, and other Aboriginal people with reentering from incarcerations
Civil Survival - has a vast list of resources in Pierce County for those returning from incarceration including meetings, legal assistance and resources, job and internship opportunities, and re-entry resources.
Goodwill's LifeLaunch Go Program- supports young people who've been involved with the justice system get a second chance. This program specifically helps with employment.
Tacoma Pro Bono/Housing Justice Project- can help those who have difficulty getting housing due to incarceration and other pro-bono legal services
Look 2 Justice- is a peer led civic education and empowerment programs to currently and formerly incarcerated people and their families
NW Justice Project (NJP)- provides free legal assistance to address fundamental human needs such as housing, family safety, income security, health care, education and more. Located in Seattle.
Prison Scholar Fund- provides re-entry services that include technology support, job skills training, and more to help with accessing education and scholarships

TCC Specific Resources

New Chances Program -- provides specialized support for students in Pierce County to pursue their education after release from incarceration
