You will be taking a quiz and learning to navigate the sites you will need to use here at TCC.

Navigating a campus website takes a little thinking sometimes. Websites and Portals are interactive and are updated periodically--changing how they look throughout the quarter, sometimes.

One of the first things you want to do is to narrow down your question or quest. What do you want to know or what do you want to do?

Are you trying to find out where your classes are located on campus? (Website)
Are you trying to register for those classes? (from a website passes through to a portal)
Are you trying to find your grades themselves? (in a portal, usually behind several privacy layers)

These issues related to a single class are going to be found in different places with differing levels of access--general website information will not be personal and won't be password or pin protected.

Now let's go to the TCC Portal. We know you can log in because you have made it to this lesson in our class, but can you find the other things you need to be successful?

There are two areas that currently service students--The Portal and CTCLink. The portal is where you find the ongoing information links and resources, such as the Library, Tutoring Center, Instructional Calendar and Information Commons. CTCLink is where you log in for Canvas, Registration, and Tuition. Think of the Portal as the public part of our online campus and CTCLink as the private. This assignment is only concerned with the portal.
