This is a communicative assignment that can be used, with minimal adjustments, in all sections of Spanish. It can be used on a traditional classroom setting, hybrid-online, or in a full online class.
In many of the online classes the students are required to do a Capstone project for each chapter they cover. In the project they showcase the topic, grammatical and thematic, for a given section. In the classroom setting a similar assignment is given, usually at the end of the quarter, which is a little more comprehensive. The idea here is to have an assessment that can work in all sections regardless of the mode of delivery or grades/points allocated to the assignment. Below is the assignment for a Spanish 121 classroom section as an example.
Charlas/Oral presentations.
Now you have a chance to showcase what you have learned this quarter! Please prepare to introduce yourself to the class. Make you include:
- Where you are from.
- What you like to do.
- What you study/want to be.
- A little about your family, or friends. Don’t forget some descriptions.
- Include some pictures or graphics for your presentation
