Purpose

The purpose of our work this week is to 1) learn and practice skills related to using the TCC Library website and 2) learn and practice "active reading" strategies. The TCC Library website is full of helpful information for students for almost any class you take! Also, as a college student, you will asked to read a lot of information. Some of the information may be familiar to you, but much of it will be new. In our class, we'll learn how to be "active" readers so that we can use specific strategies to understand and respond to what we read.

Use "active reading" strategies to improve your understanding of the texts that you read.

- Replies Due: Thursday, April 23
Complete: Quiz, Navigating TCC Library website
- Due: Friday, April 24
Submit: Writing Assignment, Research and Active Reading
- Due: Saturday, April 25.

To help in the completion of activities, you should…

To ensure you don't lose work, it is recommended that you work offline using a word processing application such as Microsoft Word and then copy/paste your post into the course's discussion forum.
Read through the entire week's modules early so that you know what you need to do, can plan your time, and work at a pace that works for you.
Let Mary know when you have questions or when things just don't make sense. If I've made a mistake in an assignment, please tell me so I can fix it asap!
