About Dona Aubrey

Hello and welcome to HIT 120. I’m Professor Dona Aubrey. You can call me Professor Aubrey, Professor or Dona, depending on what you’re comfortable with. I’m excited to be teaching this course and to have you in my class! I started my college journey here at TCC many years ago and graduated from the HIT Program. I am happy to be back working and teaching here after spending 25 years in healthcare. I hope you will feel the same sense of pride for attending TCC that I do as an instructor here. It’s a great place to learn and I’m looking forward to learning with you. I’m here to help you succeed. If you feel worried about your learning and/or performance in this course, please talk to me. I am happy to listen and strategize solutions that will improve your learning and performance. I know how important the outcomes of your classes are and I am here to provide support and guidance so that you can be successful. As you are making a commitment to your education, I am making a commitment to helping you. Please don't ever hesitate to contact me if you have any questions or concerns about your class, the program, or anything else.

Communication Plan

I use the announcement feature in Canvas to communicate to the class as a whole. You can see the announcements by going to the course tab or on the announcements page in Canvas. You are responsible for any information found in the announcement section. You should check the announcements at least twice per week to be sure that you are up-to-date on everything. You can sign up for automatic notification of new announcements through the Canvas notification page.

You can also send me an email. I always respond to emails as soon as possible. If you don't hear back from me in a reasonable amount of time, (other than weekends or holidays), it's possible that it has fallen into the 'email black hole' and you should resend. I never just ignore emails. You can also call my office number, (see above), or stop by my office during my scheduled hours, (see above).

Due to the CoronaVirus there are times when I might be working off campus during my office hours and during those times, you will be able to drop into my virtual office hours, (same days and times), with the Zoom link that you will find in your class syllabus.
