HIM315 Health Law

This course will cover the legal system, laws, polices, and external forces that affect the U.S. healthcare system. Students will investigate the impact of policy on health, ethical standards of practice, and compliance.

Course Learning Outcomes

By the end of this course, you will be able to:

Examine legal concepts affecting the U.S. healthcare system
Examine the use of legal documents for consent for treatment.
Comply with legal processes that impact health information. (CC.V.1)
Evaluate compliance with external forces. (CC.V.2)
Analyze components of risk management as related to a health organization. (CC.V.3)
Analyze the impact of policy on health. (CC.V.4)
Assess ethical standards of practice. (CC.VI.7)
