TCC Professional Development Program

Mission: 

The Division of Organizational Learning & Effectiveness Professional Development Program is designed to enhance professional and personal learning experiences for all staff in the achievement of the TCC mission to create meaningful and relevant learning, achieve equity, and engage community. A broad scope of programs is designed to benefit the whole college community as well as to focus on the needs of particular groups.

Goals:

TCC professional development program

  1. will have a strong program in place for all employees that is focused on practices that ensure all personnel groups are working collaboratively to set goals and refine and expand practices for student success
  2. will encourage and support learning, knowledge sharing, and systems and processes improvement
  3. will take a proactive approach in developing its faculty and staff leadership capabilities
  4. will communicate and create awareness about the professional development opportunities that are offered
  5. will provide a reliable presence to assure services (e.g. formal and informal) are consistently available for faculty and staff
  6. will maintain and expand partnerships with committees and departments across campus to meet needs

Functions:

TCC professional development program will

  1. coordinate campus-wide workshops for personal and professional development
  2. provide information (e.g. location and documentation) of workshops and trainings offered through individual departments and offices on campus
  3. coordinate the usage of the Teaching and Learning Center for workshops and meetings with support equipment for TCC employees
  4. coordinate the quarterly faculty professional development activities (e.g. new faculty orientations, seminars, and institutes)
  5. develop, support, and facilitate activities related to organizational change initiatives
  6. provide access to the internal and external learning and professional growth resources (e.g. print, media, publications and conference information)
  7. develop and implement a leadership development program for all TCC employees
  8. provide consultative and coordination support to department/division specific trainings and development activities (e.g.  function specific training, technical training, work group retreats, topic specific informational sessions)
