Staff Mentor Program

Overview

The TCC Staff Mentor Program will be starting in Spring 2019. The program will help TCC retain staff, improve staff morale; provide personalized learning opportunities; encourage career development and exploration; create community across departments and divisions; and help students succeed. For more details on the rationale for the program, read the Program Proposal Links to an external site..

Key Points

Staff will apply to the program as a mentor or mentee by filling out a brief questionnaire about the type of mentor or mentee they would like to be paired with. The committee will pair mentors and mentees on a quarterly basis. Mentors and mentees will attend an orientation and training in their first quarter then complete check-ins each quarter to share their progress.

Pairs are expected to meet one hour per month for one year. The Mentee completes a Learning Plan with support from the Mentor, which will be used to focus the mentoring relationship. Each pair will receive $75 per year to purchase resources, complete a professional development assessment (e.g. MBTI, IDI, Strengths Finder, etc.), and/or share a meal.
