Dear Paramedic Applicant:

Thank you for applying to the 2020/21 TCC Paramedic Class. We are now ready to begin moving forward with the selection process. Please pay careful attention to the instructions as the process will begin to move quickly.

Selection conference instructions:

On April 30, 2020 you will take a 100 question written examination based on the DOT EMT curriculum. A minimum score of 80% is required.
The written examination will be from 1030 to 1200 on April 30, 2020.
From 12pm-1pm you will have a break during which time you may log out of the system and have a break.
You should be logged back into the system at 1pm and ready to begin the Patient Care Report portion of the process.
You will be given THREE patient cases to review and write a patient care report based on the scenarios. SOAP format is required. If you normally utilize a system with drop down menu reporting, you should review SOAP charting as all information is expected to be in your report and no drop downs will be available.
SOAP reports will be evaluated based on an objective rubric (not available to applicants) to ensure equity in scoring and prevent bias.
The top 30 combined scores from this process will then be invited to create a multimedia presentation of a BLS case study. You will be notified by May 4^th of your status and presentation information will be given to the top 30 with a due date of May 8^th at midnight.
The 24 accepted students and 6 alternates will be notified of their results by May 11^th.

Keep in mind the program starts in Summer Quarter 2020 so there will not be a lot of time from test date to program start. This is due to complications arising from the COVID-19 situation. That being said, Summer Quarter is entirely online so that will give you the summer to make arrangements for being in the classroom next fall (assuming the pandemic situation has stabilized).
